Abhishek Sharma has climbed to a career-best No. 2 in the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings. The Indian opener moved past Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan and now sits 51 rating points behind teammate Ishan Kishan, who retains the top spot with 913 points.
India currently leads the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan 2-0. In the bowling department, Jasprit Bumrah returned to the T20I top 10 after jumping seven places to reach 10th position.
The Indian squad has confirmed changes due to injury and selection updates. Varun Chakravarthy is ruled out of the final T20I against Afghanistan and the 2026 Asian Games because of a side strain. Vipraj Nigam has been named as his replacement for the Asian Games. Additionally, Nitish Kumar Reddy has withdrawn from the Asian Games squad to join India’s ODI team for the West Indies series.
In Test cricket, England’s Ollie Robinson has reached No. 3 in the bowling rankings following a 3-0 series sweep over Pakistan. Robinson took 21 wickets during the series, marking England’s first 3-0 result in Pakistan in the World Test Championship era.
The ICC stated: “Robinson, who finished with 21 wickets and has gained 23 places during the series, attained his previous best fourth position in February 2023. He is now on a career-best 856 rating points, becoming only the 16th England bowler to reach the 850-point mark.”
Other ranking movements include Australia’s Matthew Renshaw, who rose to 68th in the ODI batting list after recording his maiden international century. England’s Josh Tongue also gained ground following the conclusion of the Pakistan tour.
