Imran Tahir has declared his intent to play the 2027 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) season at age 48, seeking to officially conclude his career with the Guyana Amazon Warriors. The leg-spinner expressed a desire to retire in front of the Guyanese supporters, though his return depends on approval from the franchise management, owners, and president.
Tahir finished the 2026 CPL season as the joint-leading wicket-taker, taking 16 wickets in 12 matches at an economy of 7.05. On September 10, 2026, he set a world record as the oldest bowler to take a five-wicket haul in men’s T20 cricket, aged 47 years and 166 days.
